August 24, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

$15

Northern Arizona is a goldmine for backyard birders. It is home to many colorful, unique species that readily come to your gardens, bird feeders, and bird baths. In this workshop you will learn:

  • What are the most common birds in our area and how they complement our environment
  • What uncommon birds and rarities you may see and how to listen and watch for them
  • Ways to attract birds to your backyard or deck – from the most economical to more complex
  • Local resources to help you be a better bird watcher

Margaret Dyekman has watched birds in Northern Arizona from her backyard for two decades and spent those years documenting her experiences. She is an accomplished writer and speaker, and frequent conference presenter. She recently published Backyard Birding in Northern Arizona, using her own experiences to show readers how to make the most of backyard birding.

She is a member of the Northern Arizona Audubon Society, the Maricopa Audubon Society, the Central Arizona Butterfly Association, the North American Butterfly Association and the American Birding Association.

Class participants will receive 15% off her book.

$15 at the door. Space is limited, so please call 928.774.1983 to reserve your seat.
