Root Camp: ‘Firewise’ Landscaping

A new class for this year’s “Root Camp” series!

Mick Henry of Mick’s Tree Service will share his observations and suggestions informed by his experiences as a wildland fire fighter and his work as a Certified Arborist and Firewise Advisor dealing with the aftermath of Tunnel and Pipeline fires.

Many insurance companies are now requiring Firewise mitigation work be performed prior to renewal of homeowner’s insurance, so this free class is both timely and informative. Learn best practices based on firsthand experiences and how to create a defensible space around your home.

We’ll also hear from Master Gardener Sylvia Meakin, who will present on what she did personally in her own yard to prevent fire damage through firewise practices.
